What we beliEve

Statement of Faith

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired and the only infallible and authoritative Word of God.

  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

  • We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection and in His personal, future return to this earth.

  • We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead. At conversion, He regenerates, indwells, seals and baptizes the believer into the body of Christ.

  • We believe the Church of Jesus Christ is both invisible and visible. Invisibly, it is the body of Christ, of which He is the head and of which every born again person is a member. Visibly, it is a local assembly of redeemed persons.

  • We believe that salvation from sin takes place when a sinner places his trust in Jesus Christ. Salvation cannot be earned by human works but is based solely by faith alone in the shed blood of Jesus.

  • We believe that God's Word commands every believer to be baptized in water. Though baptism has no saving merit, it demonstrates symbolically, the believer's faith in and union with the crucified, buried and risen savior.

FTIM
Declaration

We believe the Church exists to be God's agent in reconciling the people of the world to God and to each other.  The Church on earth is the imperfect reflection of the eschatological community, our hope for the coming Kingdom of God.  The church is a body of believers created to worship God by giving Him praise, honor, and glory in manifold forms of worship expressions.

We believe that through the Church, God's people experience a community of love and care.  We believe the Church exists to edify the Body of believers through fellowship, accountability/mentorship, and proclamation of the Word. Furthermore, the Church exists to prepare believers for service in the world in a Christ-like lifestyle.

We believe the Church is, always has been, and always will be constituted by Christ's life, death and resurrection. We believe that the Holy Spirit sustains the Church continually from Pentecost to this epoch.

We believe that our purpose at FTIM is to teach the Word of truth as we disciple the worship community to develop a Christ centered lifestyle, serving our families, our church, our community and the nations with God’s empowering Word and His Holy Spirit.
